With and without connectivity, providing friendly solutions to strengthen education!
In Honduras, interest and appreciation has emerged around data collection and its benefits in the education system. To consolidate this initiative, RTI International through the Progresa con Educación, a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded Activity, is collaborating closely with the Ministry of Education of Honduras (MOE) to integrate Tangerine into public schools to identify students at risk of dropping out and strengthen the monitoring of the educational indicators at the national level to make evidence-based decisions and reduce the risks of school dropout.
Tangerine is playing a supportive role for teachers and students, by facilitating the skills measurement processes, continuous and summative assessments, classroom observations and survey implementation. Tangerine is also promoting a new way of collecting and visualizing data, Progresa con Educación and the MOE are developing a Tangerine version mobile application to facilitate educators, principals, and school administrators the registration of the educational indicators' data by using a cell phone or tablet, without the need to be connected to the internet.
Progresa con Educacion will continue using Tangerine to enhance the processes to collect valuable information to allow the evidence-based decision-making to improve the quality of safe and relevant education in Honduras.
